Our Wedding

Our story started in 2021 in a place neither of us expected to find love, a classroom. We were teachers on the same grade-level team during that school year. Jeanette was the team leader. She was serious, focused, and the kind of teacher who led with her whole heart. Sarita admired her from the beginning because she was a badass at what she did and because of the way she loved and showed up for her students. Jeanette helped teach Sarita how to become a better teacher, while Sarita slowly reminded Jeanette that life could use a little more silliness and fun. By the next school year, life had changed for both of us. Our friendship grew deeper and there was an energy between us that neither of us could ignore. What started as friendship became something new. It took a little courage, a lot of understanding, and definitely some winning each other over. But our story was never just about the two of us. Sarita had already gotten to know Grace as her student and quickly saw something special in her. Once our kids became part of each other’s lives, everything started falling into place. Grace brought something out in Arthur and became such an important part of Estelle’s world. Watching Estelle grow and communicate more with Grace around, and watching Arthur come out of his shell too, made us realize we weren’t just building a relationship. We were becoming a family. Through each other, we’ve learned that family is about the people who choose to love you, support you, grow with you, laugh with you, and continue to show up for you. Jeanette gave Sarita a deeper meaning of family, and Sarita brought out the fun and silliness in Jeanette that we all need sometimes. On December 26, 2025, with the kids and some of the people closest to us in on the secret, Jeanette surprised Sarita with a proposal. Then, at our engagement party on March 14, 2026, Sarita surprised Jeanette with a ring of her own. Now we’re taking our family and the people we love most somewhere none of us have experienced together before. On 7•7•27, our lucky 7s, we’ll say I do by the ocean in Puerto Rico. We want this to be more than our wedding. We want it to be a vacation, a celebration, and a chance to make memories with the people who mean the most to us. Somewhere along the way, our hearts found exactly where they belonged.

Our Story

Our wedding will be outdoors by the beach, so think colorful, tropical, and dressy…but comfortable!•Our wedding colors are light blue, orange, yellow, peach, and navy, and we’d love to see our guests bring those colors to life.•For dresses and outfits, think tropical colors, florals, flowy fabrics, and summer styles.•For shirts and slacks, think navy, khaki, beige, or tan pants paired with shirts in light blue, orange, yellow, peach, navy, or coordinating tropical prints.•Please no white or ivory attire. •Most importantly, come dressed to celebrate, dance, and enjoy Puerto Rico with us!
